Design Thinking, Problems of Practice, Open Teaching & Learning

Fall 2015 was a good tech semester for me as it presented an opportunity to radically depart from the way I have been teaching educational technology for the past 10 years, and dive into my most authentic open teaching and student learning experience to date. Needless to say it was both
invigorating and nerve wracking [both for me and my students!]. It required trusting the process, embracing the fuzziness, and being open to a different [in my opinion more meaningful] teaching and learning experience. What I appreciated most was being able to infuse the Design Thinking approach that my Dean has been using in all of our school partnership building initiatives this past year to working with my students and teachers in the school. At the end of the day this was really not like a course at all. Above is a summary of what we shared at the EdTechTeacher San Diego Summit and will be sharing at ORATE at the end of this month. I am now wracking my brain on how to bring a similar learning experience to all my students!
